Lucio Moriyama is an emerging Japanese-Brazilian guitarist and composer  coming from Brazil. He was born in September 12th, 1985 in the City of  Campinas, state of São Paulo. Like any otaku guy, watching some anime,  Metaru Hīrō Shirīzu, super sentai, and other pop culture productions  from Japan, comes to light the interest in reconecting with the japanese  culture, but Moriyama didn't actually care about music back then. Only  around his 14 years old he started unvealing his interest as musician It  began in 2000, when he got his first guitar as a gift from his father;  Mr. Américo Moriyama (Nisei from Moriyama's Family). Then he took his  first lessons and within 4 months dropped out to study on his own.  During that time the most important thing was to have tons of fun. As  time went by, Lucio Moriyama took place in many bands, but just for fun  until he was about 20 years old.

When he reached the age of 21, in  2006, he applied for college and went to study Social Communication in  Federal University of Viçosa, a humongous college in Minas Gerais, and  of course he kept all his passion acquired for music during the whole  graduation.
Things with music started getting serious in 2013 when he  started studying music production, to record at home. In 2014 he joined  Glavia, an underground band from Campinas (São Paulo). While he was in  Glavia, they played with great Brazilian bands such as Fresno, NX Zero,  Gloria, Rancore, Strike, and many others from the whatsocalled new  generation of brazilian rock.
Between 2015 and 2019 Glavia went  through a hiatus. In order to reconnect with music, in 2017, Lucio  started studying guitar building techniques with Ricky Lucas (He is an  amazing luthier as well as guitar player. He played with Aquiles  Priester, former drummer of Angra).

The time spent learning how  and building two strats (which were used to record the Horizon Album)  was extremely important, because that allowed Moriyama to create a very  good network with other extraordinary and not-so-known musicians whom  also took Ricky's course. "Making my two strats with Rick wasn't the  final goal, but listening to other veteran guitarists talking about  their experiences and plans inspired me to try new things with music,  encouraged me for new horizons". Two great musicinas inspired Lucio;  first one was Ricky Lucas, he is a very skilled guitar player. After the  8-month guitar building course, Lucio also started to learn more about  guitar techniques with him, which improved his guitar skils to the next  level - "To me,  taking these classes with Ricky pushed me to a next  level of guitar skills, made me notice how I love guitar and how I was  stuck in abillity for a long time". Another person who made a difference  was the musican Felipe Hervoso from AXTY - "Felipe is a brutally  talented guitar player, and as if it's not enough, he composes too.  Seeing him developing instrumental music inspired me to try it more  seriously".

After 2017 Lucio Start decides to get all heads down  into studying guitar and composition. That's when he started composing a  lot of ideias that eventually became the album Horizon, his debut album  that will be released in March 31th of 2021.

During the  processes of creating the album, other experienced instrumental  musicians coached Moriyama. Marco Slon was one of them. "Slon was a  fantastic friend! He is very talented and his advices basically polished  the instrumental composition for me". The ideias for the compositions  were important, but Lucio had a short time to develop the skills on the  instruments in order to record them all. Because of Marco Slon he got to  know about Kiko Loureiro's method, the Guitar Hacks. Then he applyed  for Kiko Loureiro's course, which taught him how to improve in short  time.

With a double life, working with social media during the  day and working with the music at night, After 2 years recording in  Lucio's home studio (laptop, interface and a desk), on August 9, 2019 he  released his first try on an instrumental rock music, the single  Champagne. "This song is a celebration of life, but during the time I  made it, I had a  surgery on my foot. That left me disabled for 6  months. I got really down during those months and making that song was  like a scream forcing myself into being more positive and celebrate the  good things of life". It was the first partnership with Beto Lins, who  co-produced and recorded the bass on this track.

In February of  2020 the recording sessions for the Horizon Album had already  finished.  The next step was yo mix and master, but it was right when Covid-19  stormed out in Brazil. That made things a little more difficult to  accomplish the finished the album once Beto and Lucio were, together,  required in studio. The solution they found was remote access on  computers during the mix process so they could listen what was being  done in real time. It all took 7 months (from March to September),  meeting every saturday and working for 4 to 5 hours.

The second  single was released on November 26, 2020, entitled "Dirty Heart (Aki  Ito)". Then a third one in February 28, 2021, the "Hannya" single. Next  releases will be "Neon Tokyo", on March 16, 2021, and finale the album  "Horizon" + VideoClip "Neon Tokyo" on March 31, 2021
